Interview With Alex Biushkin – SafeDNS
Alex Biushkin, CEO of SafeDNS, was recently interviewed by Aviva Zacks of Safety Detectives. She asked him how his company stays ahead of its competition.
Safety Detective: Tell me about your company’s services or products.
Alex Biushkin: SafeDNS is developing our own solution for web filtering services on the DNS level. In simple words, it means that we are able to block or allow any website on the web according to the content that is specified on this website. For example, a website might include signs of online scams or ransomware; it will be blocked and the user wouldn’t get access to it from one point. But if it’s just something of general nature—about automobiles, libraries, etc.—the internet user will just get access to it.
Extreme content about hate and discrimination is also filtered by our solution.
SD: What kinds of industries use your company services?
AB: In terms of industries, there are many of them. We started working with home users, then went to education companies and small-to-medium businesses. Now, we’re working with internet service providers and telco operators. We are working with numerous industries in about 60 countries across the world. That’s how and why the industries themselves differ so much; because in different regions, different kinds of industries are more interested in our solution.
SD: Why do you think your customers love your company?
AB: Businesses love our company because of the following:
- We switch loyalty programs to help them increase their business revenue.
- We keep our product up-to-date with the cybersecurity trends to meet the clients’ needs.
- Our product is perfect when it comes to content filtering thanks to our categories and our constantly updated database.
- Our 24/7 professional & friendly tech support.
SD: What do you feel are the worst cyberthreats today?
AB: The most dangerous ones are phishing and ransomware because they’re the most numerous. People are just starting to understand where the scams can be and where they cannot appear. That is why the internet is getting more and more dangerous. As the scams get more and more complicated and sophisticated, phishing might be one of the most dangerous.
SD: How is the pandemic changing the way your company is handling cybersecurity?
AB: SafeDNS is a cloud-based service, so our approach hasn’t changed, but the pandemic has changed the entire market in several ways. First of all, there are lots of end-users who are working remotely, so they may not be in the same networks anymore and are not protected by one single firewall. Our cloud solution is useful as it doesn’t depend on the customer’s network. In these terms, our approach hasn’t changed, and our solution works in any network. The customers are protected, whether they are inside their own corporate network, their home network, or any public Wi-Fi.
